MARYSVILLE, CA (MPG) - The City of Marysville, in partnership with the Yuba Area Bike Advocates (YABA), Blue Zones Project, and the Yuba-Sutter High Wheelers, is proud to announce the installation of new bike racks at Bryant Field.

This initiative is a significant step toward encouraging active transportation and enhancing accessibility for community members and visitors alike.

Ben Deal, a leading advocate with Yuba Area Bike Advocates, championed the project from its inception, working closely with partners to bring the vision to life.

“What better way to spend an evening, then riding your bike to the ballpark, locking it to these cool racks, and watching a game?” said Deal. “YABA's goal is to help make riding easier for everyone and knowing you can safely lock your bike up is a part of that. YABA would also like to thank FRAQMD for funding the project.”

The bike racks were strategically placed at Bryant Field to accommodate the increasing number of visitors who choose cycling as a means of transportation. The Yuba-Sutter High Wheelers and the Blue Zones Project provided critical support to ensure the installation aligns with local goals.

“The Yuba-Sutter High Wheelers are delighted to support the local community and make all forms of transportation accessible to Bryant Field, especially those who would like to bike to and from our games,” said Lon Hatamiya. “We are honored to partner with the City of Marysville and the YABA to achieve these goals and welcome everyone to our fantastic family outing of a game of baseball.”

The City of Marysville is thrilled to see collaborative efforts like this come to fruition and is dedicated to continuing initiatives that improve the quality of life for residents.

Dan Flores, community and economic development director for the City of Marysville said, “The City of Marysville is thrilled to collaborate with YABA, the High Wheelers, and Blue Zones, to provide new bicycle racks at Bryant Field. As the owners of this historic field, we are committed to promoting healthy, sustainable transportation options. These new racks will make it easier for residents and fans to ride their bikes to the games, fostering an active lifestyle and a more vibrant community during the upcoming baseball season.”

The bike racks are now available for use, providing a secure and convenient option for cyclists visiting Bryant Field. The city encourages residents to take advantage of this new amenity and join in promoting sustainable and healthy transportation options.
