LIVE OAK, CA (MPG) - Drivers making their way through the city of Live Oak can’t help but notice that there is something new going up along the Highway 99 corridor.

Construction has officially begun on a big addition to Live Oak, a Jack in the Box.

Located on Highway 99, just north of the Pennington Road intersection, the Jack in the Box development has the distinction of being the first fast-food drive-thru to find its home in the Live Oak community.

Residents, along with city officials, are excited for the new business.

City of Live Oak Building Director Tom Davis said that there were a few delays in construction, but that after groundbreaking, the framing is going up quickly.

The construction has progressed far enough now that the public can start to get an idea of how the new restaurant will be situated.

It appears that entrances might be located on the south and eastern sides of the new establishment and the drive-thru on the western side along the highway.

Regardless, the public could be pulling up to the window of a local Jack in the Box in less than three months, with Davis saying that developers have set their completion date for mid-October.
