WHEATLAND, CA (MPG) - Sourdough Slim returns to Pioneer Hall in Wheatland with songs, jigs, yodeling and humor at 7 p.m. June 28.
This year, Sourdough Slim will be joined by Robert Armstrong and Harmonica Hank in a repertoire of western classics, country blues, vintage jazz and string favorites from the 1920s and 1930s topped off with comedy bits.
They play a variety of instruments, including the accordion, guitar, banjo, ukulele and harmonica.
Free ice cream and lemonade will be available during intermission. The performance is suitable for all ages.
“Admission for the show is free,” said spokesman Martin Heatlie. “Suggested $20 donations will be greatly appreciated but we want everybody to be able to enjoy the event.”
A pre-show chili dinner, starting at 5:30 p.m., will be available at Pioneer Hall for $10.
Pioneer Hall is located at 4th and B streets in Wheatland.
For the last 10 years, donations raised at the event have been used to help maintain the 110-year-old Pioneer Hall.
