Amateur Radio Technician Class Offered

YUBA-SUTTER, CA (MPG) - The Yuba-Sutter Amateur Radio Club (YSARC) will be conducting classes for those interested in obtaining their license. The class will teach you everything you need to know to pass the technician level exam (FCC rules, operating procedures, radio waves, amateur radio practices, electrical principles, electrical components, station equipment, modulation and demodulation, antennas and feed lines, and safety).

Classes will be held Monday and Wednesday evenings from 6:30 - 8:30 P.M. at the American Red Cross (ARC) Center beginning Jan 3rd and ending Feb 28th. The ARC center is located at 2125 E. Onstott Frontage Road, Yuba City. On Mar 2nd YSARC will have an exam session where you can take the exam and get licensed.

The cost for instruction is free. You will need a current copy of the “ARRL Ham Radio Technician Manual” fifth edition. The manual is available in electronic format (kindle) and spiral bound book format. You can obtain the manual yourself or the instructor can order it for you at a 20% discount from ARRL (excluding kindle). It takes about 1 week for the books to arrive.
