Based on the deceased’s location, it appeared the body was brought in with a cardboard recycling truck sometime during the previous week.
The Sheriff’s Investigations Unit, along with neighboring agencies, conducted an investigation, but the exact location of pickup and date of arrival could not be determined.
The deceased was identified as Ron Lamp of Magalia, CA. An autopsy revealed physical injuries, however, they were non-life threatening and did not contribute to Mr. Lamp’s death. A toxicology analysis showed Lamp was under the influence of a controlled substance. The cause of death was determined to be “probable asphyxia due to entrapment in a recycling truck.”
