YUBA CITY, CA (MPG) - On May 19 at 5:50 AM, a vehicle was traveling southbound on Garden Highway near Del Monte Avenue at the same time as an adult female was walking westbound across Garden Highway.

The front of the vehicle struck the female causing major injuries. The vehicle did not stop, and the driver continued driving southbound on Garden Highway.

The Yuba City Police Department, as well as the Yuba City Fire Department and Bi-County Medical personnel, arrived on scene and immediately began providing medical aid to the female. Bi-County Medical personnel transported the female to Adventist Rideout Hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries and she as pronounced deceased by medical staff. The identity of the female is not being released at this time as the investigation is still on-going.
