SUTTER COUNTY, CA (MPG) - On April 29, the Sutter County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the area of Natomas Road and Fifield Road, Pleasant Grove, regarding possible shots fired.
Deputies arrived on scene and contacted numerous subjects in the 6000 block of Natomas Road. One of the Deputies observed a barrel to what appeared to be an AR-15 rifle. This led to an investigation of the incident. Deputies located other firearms near the six subjects and spent casings. It was determined that two of the six subjects were felons and were not supposed to be in possession of firearms.
K-9 handler Deputy Pope utilizes his K-9 partner “Jari,” to conduct a further search of the area and located another handgun. Due to the call for service, physical evidence seized on scene, and that two of the subjects were felons, the two subjects were arrested.
They were identified as 39-year-old Dustin Brown and 26-year-old Ryan Franz. Both were booked into the Sutter County Jail for numerous charges, including felon in possession of firearms.
