MARYSVILE, CA (MPG) - On Saturday, March 6^th 2021, residents at home in Yuba City were the target of a drive-by shooting that claimed two lives.

Shortly after 8:20 pm a gathering was taking place at a home in the 1400 block of Countryside Drive and Littlejohn Drive. It was at that time that the Yuba County Sheriff says the initial report claims a vehicle pulled up to the home and fired multiple rounds into the backyard where the victims were gathered. Two people were struck by the gunfire and killed. Three others were injured and transported to Adventist Health and Rideout Hospital for treatment.

On Sunday, Yuba County Undersheriff Scott Smallwood reported to Action News Now that the investigation was “evolving” and that his office had reached out to the Department of Justice for help processing evidence. The suspects have yet to be identified and the Sheriff’s Department is not releasing the names of the victims out of concern for their safety.
