MARYSVILLE, CA (MPG) - During the past years the Marysville Kiwanis have put on the Jim Watson Ellis Lake Fishing Derby. Unfortunately, this year’s event on May 16th, was cancelled, due to the Covid-19 Virus. Concerned citizens are continuing the fish-out. The California Dept. of Fish and Wildlife (CDF&W) was asked to go ahead and deliver the catfish.
A tanker truck was dispatched from Modesto and arrived in Marysville on Thursday, the 6th of June. CDF&W biologists planted one-third of the fish in the north end of the lake and the other two-thirds in the 12th Street access and the south area boat ramp.
