Second Suspect Arrested in Connection to September Homicide
May 27, 2020 12:00AM ● By Marysville Police DepartmentMARYSVILLE, CA (MPG) – On the morning of Sunday, September 22,-2019, Marysville Police Department patrol officers were dispatched to a residence on the 1000 block of F Street in reference to a possible residential burglary in progress. When officers arrived on scene, they determined one of the residents, a Hispanic female adult, had recently been murdered. Family member of the deceased who also lived in the home provided information indicating two criminal suspects were responsible for the victim’s death and they fled the area in the victim’s vehicle.
Marysville Police Department Detectives responded to the residence and a homicide investigation was initiated. It was determined the victim was shot at a close range in the head. One suspect was quickly identified as Jesse Jaramillo, a 30-year-old Hispanic male adult from Sacramento who was known to the family. Information obtained during the course of the investigation indicated Jaramillo had fled to and was staying somewhere in Butte County around the Oroville area. Jaramillo was ultimately taken into custody on the morning of Thursday, 9-25-2019 at the Feather Falls Casino in Oroville. Jaramillo was booked into the Yuba County Jail on multiple felony criminal offenses, including Murder in violation of California Penal Code 187 (a).
The second suspect was recently identified as Cody Dion Morris, a 27-year-old white male adult from Rancho Cordova. A Ramey Warrant for Morris’ arrest was authorized and issued. The warrant included the felony criminal offenses of Residential Burglary in violation of California Penal Code 459, Theft of a Motor Vehicle in violation of California Vehicle Code 1085 (a) and Accessory to Murder in violation of 32. Morris was located on the 3200 block of E. Woodson Road in Acampo, CA on the morning of 5-14-2020 and he was taken into custody.
Morris was transported to the Yuba County Jail and booked into the facility for the offenses listed on the Ramey Warrant.
