YUBA CITY, CA (MPG) - On December 9th, between 2 and 8 p.m., downtown Plumas Street in Yuba City was loaded with holiday cheer. The Annual Christmas Stroll was on!

There was music, lights, and food from one end of the strip to the other. Booths and local merchants displayed a plethora of unique treasures and services.

Strolling down Plumas Street during this annual event made everyone smile. Even the dogs on their leashes grinned from ear to ear.

There was truly something for everyone. Under the Yuba City water tower, on the corner of Plumas and Reeves, a DJ was playing holiday jams with dancing Christmas colored lights.

Next to the DJ, Playzeum Yuba-Sutter, a non-profit educational resource agency, had erected a Candyland play area for the kids. There was a tree climbing tower, a bounce house, a giant slide, arts and crafts, and to top it off, a gingerbread man inflatable with a snow blower. Ok, it wasn’t real snow, but it was close enough!

A trackless miniature locomotive choo-chooed it’s way along Plumas Street carrying passengers past the many colorful booths.

A plushy booth displayed hundreds of soft, squishy creatures, cartoons and superheroes. One vendor was blowing bubbles into the crowd from a sleek looking bubble gun. A barbershop booth was next to a singer’s booth, where you could get a haircut and great music at the same time. Even a fancy, holiday-decorated selfie booth was provided.

The smells emanating from the food trucks and restaurants was intoxicating. Even fair food? Yes! Corn dogs on a stick slathered with mustard and a generous helping of garlic fries on the side… As Santa would say, “Ho-ho-oh my!”

The Yuba City Christmas Stroll helped usher in another year of holiday cheer!
